Barry teaches watercolor and oil painting techniques. He says:

Barry's workshops always center on what he feels are the most important disciplines of painting: Composition, value usage, followed by color placement... using these building blocks helps artists of all levels produce better artwork.  While having these fundamentals as a base, Barry gives specific, personalized, individual instruction to each student to help give new ideas for problem-solving. Whether it be a quick demo, an in-depth discussion concerning the understanding of perspective, or an explanation of the differences in pigments and painting surfaces, no question is off the table. Artists of all skill levels usually take home some fresh ideas to apply to their own new art.

Students should bring at least three photo references or sketches of their choosing. Their own favorite watercolor supplies including a box of pop up Kleenex. Working surface should be at least 140lb watercolor paper....nothing less.  Subject of the class will be my usual "emphasis on composition and values use with individual instruction for each student."
