MAL-CAFE--- ALTERED PAPERS –WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2013 10:00am – 12:30am
We will investigate different techniques used to create decorative papers for collage and mixed media art. Through hands-on participation, mono print, stencil, stamp, acrylic paint, ink, watercolor, salt and alcohol techniques will be explored.
SUGGESTED SUPPLIES - The list is lengthy but there will be some supplies on hand so if there is an item you do not already have, do not buy just for the class.
--Newspaper to cover table
--Paper Towels and Plastic Gloves
--Container for water and a Spritz (Spray) Bottle
--Acrylic Paints – Craft acrylics in small bottles (Tubes ok)
-- Acrylic Ink
-- Watercolors & Brushes
--Rubber Stamps, Stencils, Art Sponges, bubble wrap (anything else you might have to create a design)
--Ink Stamp Pads
--Eye Dropper
--Brayer (one that can be washed with soap & water)
--Butcher tray (tray that holds meat from the market) or sheet of Clear Plastic
--PAPER – Watercolor paper (cheapest!!) or any thick Absorbent Paper. (Do not buy something special!) NOTE: we will be working small – less than 8 x 8 for each technique so even paper scraps will be fine!
The fee for this session is $6 with $3.00 for the Studio fee plus $3.00 materials fee to Darlene Sanders to be paid at the beginning of class. There is no class minimum. Class maximum is 16.
